The Detroit Regional Partnership (DRP) was named Economic Development Organization of the Year this week by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), which is the largest membership organization of its kind in the world.
This Gold award reflects the fact that in only five years, DRP has created a best-in-class organization that’s brought nearly $9 billion in new investment, over 100 projects, and 33,000 jobs to the 11-county Detroit Region.
“To be recognized with the EDO of the Year Award in just our fifth year of operation is an honor for the Detroit Regional Partnership and a testament to the work and commitment of our team to bring investment and jobs to the Detroit region,” said Maureen Donohue Krauss, CEO of DRP. “There is a wealth of talent and opportunity in Detroit, and we are proud to act as an ambassador for our region.”
Relatedly, the IEDC will be hosting its 2025 annual conference in Detroit next fall. As an event sponsor, the Detroit Regional Partnership will have the opportunity to showcase the Detroit Region to economic developers from around the world.
Marketing the region is a core part of what the Detroit Regional Partnership does, and there’s no substitute for people seeing firsthand all the Detroit Region offers – because once they do, they help spread the word, which is essential to DRP’s business development work.
